The cooperation between the Royal Scientific Society and the Friedrich Ebert-Stiftung started in 1984 by signing a memorandum of understanding as an initial step towards a closer cooperation in the field of research devoted mainly to economic and socio-economic subjects.
By considering RSS & FES common interest in cultivating and encouraging the socio-economic development of Jordan economy, and recognizing the benefits to be derived by both countries from close scientific exchange and cooperation, the two institutions signed in 1985, an agreement of cooperation to assist each other, within the limits of their possibilities in the field of research and training devoted mainly to economic and socio-economic subjects on the basis of equal partnership.
Accordingly, FES participated in financing about (25) research studies which covered different themes of interest in the Jordanian economy.
This fruitful cooperation includes conducting applied socio-economic research studies on various issues pertinent to the Jordanian economy by providing the concerned parties with policy recommendations that would overcome the arising economic problems which obstruct the development process.
