LOCAL STAKEHOLDER
COMMITTEE
|
In our project we encourage residents of disadvantaged rural areas of the Badia to get involved in their community and to be involved in the sustainable management of the wastewater in their area, through the participation in what we call it “LOCAL STAKEHOLDER COMMITTEE”. As a result, people who have the potential to start or lead locally generated initiatives participated in this committee. They play an important role in representing the needs and interests of their communities. They promote for a social support and acceptance for the development of the wastewater management practices in the Badia. The
Local stakeholder committee includes many of the Badia figures and mainly it
includes the following members:-
The committee members were
exposed to experience of other communities in the field of wastewater
management. They had the opportunity to meet with officials, IDRC representatives, and members of other similar local
community groups of similar projects. This gave them a sense of reality and
raised awareness about local community issues in the Badia setting. |
