Integrated Wastewater Management Policies & Technologies For Marginal Communities In Jordan

Public Awareness Campaigns It was understood that raising the awareness about wastewater management issues in the rural communities is indispensable to deliver practical messages on safe and sustainable wastewater management and reuse, on maintaining ecological values of water, and on checking contamination of scarce water resources. The public awareness program of our project focused on involving women and young people with education on water and wastewater issues in schools, and inviting local people to study tours at sanitation facilities. In addition, we reached decision-makers, municipality officials and opinion leaders, including religious leaders where appropriate, to promote and develop an understanding of water and wastewater related issues to be spread further into the society. Furthermore, posters, newspaper articles on water resources and wastewater management issues were developed and distributed.
