The Radiation Measurement and Calibration Laboratory
conducts measurements of radionuclide contamination
“radioactivity” in food and environmental samples
working mainly on:
1) Qualitative and quantitative analysis of
radionuclides in environmental samples such as
water, soil & Air, food, detergents, fertilizers,
etc.
2) Radiation Dose Measurement in work areas.
3) Verification of shielding integrity in
radiography and radiotherapy rooms.
4) Calibration of Radiation Dose / Dose Rate Meters
used in radiation protection activities.
5) Consultations in practices related to radiation
protection.
-
The Personal Dosimetry Laboratory measures the level
of radiation to which all personnel working in this
field are exposed. The laboratory also measures
variations in background using environmental
dosimeters.
-
The Personal Dosimetry Laboratory provides personal
dosimetry services to radiation workers in Jordan at
the national level, approx. 2200 workers in the
various fields of applications using ionizing
radiation are monitored four times a year.
