In Training and Business Development:

TTC has organized and conducted some regional workshops and training courses in different fields, some of these are:

Workshop for participants from the Gulf region on Cleaning Contamination Sites, this workshop conducted on 23-25 April 2007.

Training course on "Non-Destructive Testing" conducted by Mechanical Design & Technology Centre to participants from the Gulf Region from 15 June – 18 August 2007.

Training course titled "Project Management Professional". Participants were from Gulf region and RSS, held on 12 - 21 August, 2007.
-
Workshop on CP recognition Scheme conducted in cooperation with the CP unit at the Environmental Research Centre, 2007.

Regional Conference entitled “Water Legislative Policy” held in Amman in cooperation with the Ministry of Water & Irrigation & the National Law Centre, June 18-19, 2008

Regional workshop entitled “Political Economy of Water Demand Management” in cooperation with International Development Research Centre / Canada (IDRC), June 29 – 30, 2008.

Regional workshop titled “Integrated Water Resources Management”. The workshop was held at RSS during the period March 7-9, 2007 in Amman-Jordan, in cooperation with Inter Academy Panel (IAP) on International Issues and The World Association of Industrial and Technological Research Organizations (WAITRO), The Association of Academies of Sciences in Asia (AASA), The Federation of Asian Scientific Academies and Societies (FASAS), and The Higher Council for Science and Technology (HCST). The invited participants include personnel from government environmental protection agencies and researchers from Middle East and South Asia countries.

Several (Soft Skills) training courses conducted for public and private sectors in several cities and regions of Jordan, as well as for RSS employees, in the fields of (time management, dealing with others, communication skills, train of trainers, meeting management as well as self and stress management). The cumulative number of hours for these courses was 330 hours, and the cumulative number of participants was about 1000 participant from Jordan and the region in the last year.

Regional training course in “Strategic Planning for Top Management”, held at the RSS during the period April 19-30, 2009.The course was supported by Iraqi Interim Center for Science and Industry (IICSI).

Four regional training courses in GIS (Introduction to the Multi-user GeoDataBase, Building GeoDataBase, Advanced Analysis with ArcGIS and Analysis ArcGIS Desktop: Workflow and Analysis). The courses were sponsored by the World Health Organization (WHO) and were held during the period April 4-16, 2009.

In IP and Innovation:

Establishing, amending and enacting the IP policy for RSS, in addition to conducting several seminars that emphasizes on the importance of such policy to increase the awareness among RSS staff.

Submitting 10 patent applications generated by RSS staff to the Jordanian Patent Section, wherein 4 of them have already been granted. The subjects of these applications vary from measuring instruments to chemical pigment to electromechanical devices to construction components.

Accepting 4 disclosure from the community in 2009, these disclosures are in the fields of automated irrigation, transportation, energy generation and institutional databases.

The registration of the patent application titled “Galvanic Corrosion Monitoring and Analyzing System (GCMAS)” in the Japanese Patent Office, the US Patent and Trademarks Office and the European Patent Office. This invention are currently being marketed in the regions of the abovementioned offices.

Conducting seminars and workshops that targets RSS staff, the Jordanian community and the region, including

A workshop entitled “Innovation and Intellectual Property; needs for SMEs & RTOs development”, sponsored by The World Association of Industrial and Technological Research Organizations (WAITRO).

A seminar presented at the Fourth Intellectual Property Rights In Agriculture Conference, entitled "The Role of Scientific Research Institution in Supporting Innovation".

Setting criteria for the internal funding of projects (Seeding).

submitting the final Draft of RSS R&D Policy.

Conducted awareness & training seminar in project proposal writing, reporting & technical writing for papers.
