The RSS
Industrial Chemistry Centre conducted a specialized training course on
“Applied Techniques for Analysis of Food Additives” for participants
from the public and private sectors.
The course aimed at introducing the participants to theoretical and
experimental knowledge about the most important food additives and food
preservatives used in manufacturing and preserving foodstuff.
It is to be noted that RSS conducted this course owing to the importance
of food additives and food preservatives to consumers, since such
substances are used in many of the foodstuff available in the market.
The course is the first of its kind in Jordan and it comes in compliance
with the need to upgrade the technical capabilities in defining and
controlling the quality and concentration of food additives and food
preservatives in accordance with the national and international
standards.
On the other hand, the RSS Environmental Research Centre conducted a
5-day specialized training course on the physical and chemical tests on
water and wastewater.
The course aimed at introducing the participants to the methods used in
identifying and analyzing the organic, inorganic and physical properties
of water and wastewater in accordance with relevant Jordanian and
international specifications.
The course included practical and theoretical laboratory training and
covered the implementation of specialized techniques, namely ionic
chromatography in testing water.
Participants in the course were engineers and specialists from LIMA
Company, Aqaba Water Company, Al Al-Bayt University, AVICO for
Veterinary Pharmaceuticals, MODAL, Jordan Petroleum Refinery Company,
Al-Hussein Workshops, the Civil Aviation Authority, in addition to the
United Pharmaceutical Company.
