Two Training Courses on Food Additives and Water Tests

The RSS Industrial Chemistry Centre conducted a specialized training course on “Applied Techniques for Analysis of Food Additives” for participants from the public and private sectors.

The course aimed at introducing the participants to theoretical and experimental knowledge about the most important food additives and food preservatives used in manufacturing and preserving foodstuff.

It is to be noted that RSS conducted this course owing to the importance of food additives and food preservatives to consumers, since such substances are used in many of the foodstuff available in the market. The course is the first of its kind in Jordan and it comes in compliance with the need to upgrade the technical capabilities in defining and controlling the quality and concentration of food additives and food preservatives in accordance with the national and international standards.

On the other hand, the RSS Environmental Research Centre conducted a 5-day specialized training course on the physical and chemical tests on water and wastewater.

The course aimed at introducing the participants to the methods used in identifying and analyzing the organic, inorganic and physical properties of water and wastewater in accordance with relevant Jordanian and international specifications.

The course included practical and theoretical laboratory training and covered the implementation of specialized techniques, namely ionic chromatography in testing water.

Participants in the course were engineers and specialists from LIMA Company, Aqaba Water Company, Al Al-Bayt University, AVICO for Veterinary Pharmaceuticals, MODAL, Jordan Petroleum Refinery Company, Al-Hussein Workshops, the Civil Aviation Authority, in addition to the United Pharmaceutical Company.
